Project Description
This series of ink-wash paintings and charcoal drawings explores the act of deconstruction through multiple representations of a lemon. The lemon is sliced, unrolled, peeled, and stamped to reimagine its form and internal composition. The exploration uses charcoal to create drawings of these acts of deconstruction, and then eventually evolves to use the lemons themselves as the tool to create ink-wash paintings. The full series was completed without the use of any color.
