A Message from the Dean - Fall 2024

Dear Friends,

In addition to welcoming 225 students to Rudolph Hall at this start of the 2024-2025 academic year, I am very pleased to welcome our faculty back to campus. This group of architect-educators, practitioners, historians, theorists, and academics enables the Yale School of Architecture to provide the most dynamic education and training. Several of this year’s faculty are teaching at Yale for the first time while others have taught generations of Yalies….

Reunions

Class Reunions

YSoA is excited to help alumni celebrate milestone reunions. Classes can self-initiate the process. Please fill out the Reunion Interest Form to begin the process. Date selection is contingent on calendar availability. The School will be able to provide meeting rooms as available. Reunion classes can also request interaction with the dean and/or faculty during their reunion; participation will be based on availability. School staff will assist with alumni contact information and offer suggested format and vendor options as needed. All activities within the YSoA premises needs to comply with Yale rules of conduct and event guidelines. The School is not able to provide financial support for reunion events. Classes/attendees need to cover all related expenses.

Multi-Class Reunions

If adjacent class year alumni would like to gather as a larger group, collaboration is welcome. A point person representing the initiative should contact staff to begin coordination following the same guidelines as single class reunions.

All-School Reunions

From time to time, YSoA will organize all-alumni events to mark milestones related to the school’s past, present, and future. To allow for greater participation, these events will have in-person and virtual components.

Volunteer

Alumni delegates to the Yale Alumni Association

YSoA has three delegate positions on the YAA Assembly who are nominated or self-nominated and appointed by the Dean. Delegates serve three-year terms commencing on July 1 of the year in which they begin the role and must rotate off for at least three years before they are eligible to be re-appointed. YSoA delegates represent fellow YSoA alumni at the Yale Assembly and Convocation. This is an unpaid volunteer role and delegates must cover their own expenses related to attending meetings.

To nominate or self-nominate a delegate, please complete the nomination form.

Alumni Fund

Gifts to the School of Architecture Alumni Fund are directed to the school’s most valuable asset—the students. Architecture alumni provide essential funds for financial aid, helping to offset the cost of professional study at Yale. Year after year, consistent support from alumni has allowed the School to maintain its high standards and to continue bringing together the most talented students, assisting many with their financial needs. Just as alumni gifts once helped fund your time at Yale, you can now take pride in knowing your generosity is helping those who are here now.
