Renting Equipment
Reservations
- A support ticket is required for all reservations.
- Equipment can only be checked in or out when a staff member is present.
- Reservations and checkouts are only available during staff hours in Room 602:
Mon, Wed, Fri: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Mon–Fri: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Loan Periods
- Standard loan period is 3 days (weekends and holidays each count as one day).
- Extended loans are available only during academic breaks with prior approval.
- Consecutive renewals are not permitted in order to maintain fairness.
- Equipment is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Borrowing Limits
- Only one item per equipment category (e.g., one laptop, one camera) may be checked out at a time.
- The person checking out the equipment is personally responsible for it until it is returned.
Returns
- All items must be returned by the due date or by 9:00 AM the following day to avoid late fees.
- Late returns incur a $20 per day fee per item.
- Items may be returned to the dropbox or lockers only if they fit; oversized items must be returned to a staff member during staffed hours.
- To be considered “Returned,” all equipment and all accessories must be included.
Damage, Loss, & Responsibility
- Borrowers are fully responsible for the replacement cost of lost or stolen items.
- Borrowers are responsible for repair costs of damaged equipment; if repair is not possible, the full replacement cost will apply.
- Checked-out equipment may not be loaned to others.
Special Items
- Drones are available to faculty only. Students may request a faculty member to check out a drone on their behalf. The borrower is responsible for any damage or liabilities related to drone use.
