The Architect as Photographer: Observation, Research, and Pedagogy
Join Momoyo Kaijima, Izzy Kornblatt, and Joan Ockman for a panel discussion celebrating the opening of Encounters: Denise Scott Brown Photographs, on view in the Yale School of Architecture gallery from January 8 to July 3, 2026. Drawing on Scott Brown’s striking body of photographs—many of which have never before been shown publicly—the conversation will touch on Scott Brown’s pedagogy, planning work, and personal history. It will also address broader questions about how architects engage with photography both as a practice of observation and as a medium of expression.
