Essential Functions:
· Perform routine architectural assignments under direct supervision, working from the design of senior team members.
Qualifications:
· Be a graduate of an accredited Architecture degree program.
· AutoCAD/Revit , Microsoft Office, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and SketchUp experience required.
· Practical experience in development of multiple building types.
· Excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills are required.

Who we’re looking for:
Julia is seeking an Architectural Designer to assist with design, drafting, model-making and 3-D renderings. This position is ideal for recent graduates or early career professionals who are looking to gain hands-on architectural experience, with a specific focus on home renovations and additions, as well as custom-built homes. As an Architectural Designer in our office, you will gain invaluable experience from conceptual design through construction completion, as well as insight into how a small architectural practice operates. In our office, we work collaboratively with each other and with our clients, contractors, and vendors. We pride ourselves on being clear and thorough communicators in all that we say, write, and draw.
Responsibilities:
· Prepare and modify architectural plans, elevations, sections, details, etc. using AutoCAD.
· With direction from Julia, develop, modify, and review drawings to incorporate design intent and code requirements.
· Generate revisions and corrections from redlined drawings.
· Prepare physical site and study models.
· Generate interior and exterior renderings suitable for client presentations.
· Prepare mood boards of material, fixture, and finish selections suitable for client presentations.
Qualifications:
· Master’s degree or better in architecture from an NAAB-accredited program.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office.
· Relevant internship or other practical experience.
· Effective technical, graphic, written, and verbal communication skills.
· Proactive team player willing to take on various responsibilities and work independently.
· Ability to manage time well and work to a specific schedule and deadlines.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing demands while maintaining a high standard of excellence, integrity, and attention to detail.
· Knowledge of construction techniques and preparing construction documents.
Details:
This role would begin as a part-time position with the potential to become full-time based on the candidate’s performance and qualifications. A minimum of two days in the Stonington office per week is required to attend construction site visits and in-office meetings, so the ideal candidate will be based within either CT or RI.

We are currently looking to fill full-time, in-person internship positions for summer 2025 and the 2025-2026 academic year. We welcome applicants for positions in the summer, fall semester, and the full academic year. Candidates who are interested in an extending their internship into the fall are especially encouraged to apply.
Our interns are an important part of our community and receive focused, individual mentorship from accomplished staff, including principals, as they work with their project teams. Responsibilities vary by staffing needs, but typically include the production of renderings, diagrams, presentations, construction documents, marketing materials, and more. Interns should expect to spend an average of 4 hours per week on administrative tasks.

Qualifications:
Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite is required. Sketchup experience is strongly preferred. As a senior level position, prior co-op or internship experience is required.
